From a charity auction supporting local families, to the joyful kickoff of Merry McMinnville, holiday makers markets, and a farmers market that runs all winter long, there is always a reason to gather in Yamhill County. Here are a few events coming up between now and the holidays across McMinnville and Oregon wine country. I am looking forward to them, and I hope to see you out there!
MacHabitat Dinner & Auction
The 31st annual MacHabitat Dinner and Auction brings the community together to support Habitat for Humanity of McMinnville and Yamhill County. An evening of dinner, live and silent auction items, and generosity at the Evergreen Event Center, with every dollar helping local families build strength, stability, and a place to call home. Community giving at its finest, and a cause close to my own heart.
Event detailsSanta Parade & Holiday Tree Lighting
The official kickoff of Merry McMinnville! The Santa Parade winds down historic Third Street on the evening of Friday, November 27, ending with Santa's grand entrance and the community tree lighting at City Park's Soper Fountain. Bring the family, bundle up, and start the holiday season together downtown. It is one of my favorite traditions of the year.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, The Ground hosts its annual Holiday Market at Stillwater in McMinnville, open Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local artisans and makers gather with handmade gifts and seasonal treasures, a wonderful place to start your holiday shopping while supporting the people who make this community special.

The Yamhill County Historical Society hosts its Handmade Holiday Market the weekend of December 5 and 6. Shop one-of-a-kind crafts from local artisans on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is a donation of two cans of food for YCAP, so you can check off some gifts and support neighbors in need all at once.

Did you know Yamhill County has a year-round farmers market? The Farmers Market at the Grange runs every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McMinnville Grange on SW Old Sheridan Road. Even in the winter months you will find seasonal produce, local meats and eggs, artisan goods, and the friendly faces of the people who grow your food. A weekly ritual I love to support.
